Prove to the world

Film Film critic Roger Ebert lists The Usual Suspects as one of his worst films of all time. Excuse me while I let that sink in ... nope ... [via]

  1. See, I don't think it's bad in the same way the other films he's listed are bad. Most of the others are purely incompetent and/or cheesey and laughable. Some of them are just badly dated.

"The Usual Suspects" is very stylish, well-acted - which can't be said for most of the other things he listed. But in the end TUS amounts to basically nothing - which is not the best way for the unreliable narrator to be used.

For me personally, I figured out the twist in the first couple of minutes, which kinda kills the suspense. And I mostly figured it out because I could see the tricks Singer was using - and the big cheat as well.

But it was fun to watch once and the revelation at the end is well executed - even though to me and Ebert it didn't really mean anything.
