TV I'm currently watching The Ascent of Man, Jacob Bronowski's essay on the history of science and civilisation. The themes of dogma verses reason are just as relevant now.
I was introduced to this program several months ago through the very YouTube clip you have linked and sought out the series so that I could watch it in its entirety.
It's truely a brilliant program and while the pacing might be just a tad slow, it really highlights the changes that have occured in the nature of television.
Nowadays, even the best of documentary programs are little more than "windows" on the world, the Ascent of Man shows that this program wasn't just meant to reflect the world, but to expand the viewers' minds.
It is an educational program that doesn't assume you already know the material but doesn't assume you're an idiot and incapable of grasping it, either.
