Film Not enough time for a long review, so just a short recommendation for Big Fish the new Tim Burton film which opens at the weekend (which I saw at a preview on Tuesday night). I've always had a love/hate relationship with Burton's films. Even though it perpetually gets five stars I think the original Batman is highly overrated. Ed Wood rates as my favourite and now Big Fish is second on that list. It's about how even the most fantastical stories have their roots in something real, but it's the embellishments which make them really fun. Unlike a lot of Burton's films it somehow manages to be mainstream, cooky and intelligent all at the same time and will probably one of the few to have a really lasting legacy. Think Forrest Gump meets Northern Exposure in a good way.
